Portico Media was invited by the organizers to attend BODW, one of the most significant events on the international design calendar.  BODW is Asia's leading annual event on design, innovation and brands, organized by the Hong Kong Design Centre since 2002. Bringing the best of the global design world to Hong Kong, BODW has aimed to encourage businesses to unleash the power of design by focusing on the vital relationship and complex interplay between design and business. 

(The Cultural & Creative is just 'starting' in Taiwan)

Portico Media sent off its camera crew to document a Taiwan first, the “2010 Taiwan International Cultural and Creative Industry Expo”, which took place November 11-14 in Taipei. The Expo was organized into seven different pavilions, including an “International Pavilion” and a “Cross-Strait Pavilion”. The goal of the Expo is to be the platform that lifts the cultural and creative industries in Taiwan onto the world stage, and thereby be a guiding light for Taiwan’s soft power initiatives. Portico definitely did not want to miss this moment. 

On November 25, 2010, Jay Lin was invited by the faculty of NCCU Graduate Institute of Intellectual Property to give a talk titled, “Discussion on the Digital Future in Taiwan.”  The talk focused on four topics: 1) the TV trends in Taiwan with updates on the recent merger and convergence developments, 2) the current digital trends in other territories, especially in Asia, 3) the expansion of the role of Internet worldwide, and the new ad sales, businesses and opportunities that it has created, and finally 4) intense discussions on the key trends affecting the digital future.

Jay Lin, Portico Media CEO, was recently a guest speaker at National Chengchi University for a seminar on International Media Careers in Taiwan. The event, sponsored by the International Master's in Communication Studies program (IMICS), brought representatives from a number of top media organizations to the school. Students were able to hear firsthand from these professionals about the challenges and opportunities for those pursuing careers in international media.

(This is the Consumer Electronics Expo, over 500,000 visitors expected)

Portico Media participated in Taiwan’s largest consumer electronics show, promoting the channels it distributes in Taiwan alongside new products and technologies from companies, government agencies and research institutes.
