【JAPAN’S CABLE INDUSTRY: ITSCOM】

　Visited one of the cable companies (CATV) in Japan, ITSCOM.  The day before we visited, they launched their VOD service.  Their coverage is along the train track going from Tokyo to Yokohama which is one of the richest areas in the Tokyo region.  This is eye-opening because I was able to compare the cable companies we work with in Taiwan with the ones in Japan.  They were very open to show and explain to us their business model.  On their pay channel platform, they also carry one of the channels we are distributing in Taiwan: SciFi.  Established good contact with their senior management and look forward following up with them.

　參訪日本其中一家有線電視系統業者，ITSCOM。在參觀的前一天，他們剛好正式提供VOD隨選服務。ITSCOM的服務範圍一路沿著鐵路從東京至橫濱，正好是在東京壹帶最富有的地區。這次真的是有機會讓我大開眼界，可以親自比較日本與台灣有線電視系統業者的不同。他們很開慷慨的秀出與解釋他們的經營模式。在他們的付費平台中，也有將台灣已經有發行的頻道上架—SciFi科幻頻道。已經與他們的高階主管有了進一步接觸，期望未來可以跟他們一同合作。
